The level. Alcohol can have a strong

The article “What is the endocrine system?” by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency explains the value of the endocrine system and its applications. The endocrine system is found in all mammals, birds, fish and other types of living organisms and regulates all biological processes in the body from conception through adulthood and into old age. It is made up of glands, hormones, and receptors in various organs and tissues. The endocrine glands are located at various points in the human body and have different jobs. The hypothalamus links the endocrine and nervous systems together and drives the endocrine system. The pituitary gland gets signals from the hypothalamus.Thepineal gland affects reproduction. The thyroid gland causes the healthy growth of vertebrates and controls metabolism. It secretes two main hormones, thyroxine and triiodothyronine into the bloodstream which stimulate the cells in the body and control biological systems like reproduction and growth. The adrenal gland makes hormones in response to stress. The pancreas makes hormones that are responsible formanaging blood sugar. The gonads make steroids that affect growth like androgens and estrogens. Androgens are responsible for male sex traits and estrogen causes female sexual development. Hormones are the body’s chemical messengers. They work at a slow rate and affect different processes like growth and mood. Hormones bind to receptors to carry out the hormone’s instructions, by altering the cell’s existing proteins or turning on genes to build a new protein. The hormone-receptor complex switches on and off specific biological processes in cells, tissues, and organs. Hormones are powerful and an imbalance can cause changes on a cellular and holistic level.   Alcohol can have a strong effect on the endocrine system by stopping hormones from controlling blood sugar. So alcohol consumption should be moderated.
