“The only way to cope with something serious is to try to treat it a little lightly,” from ” A Wrinkle In Time,” by Madeleine L’engle. Meg Murry, Charles Wallace (Meg’s little brother), and Calvin O’Keefe ( a friend Meg and Charles made), as these three children all go into a thrilling and adventurous journey through time and space to find Meg’s and Charles’s father. They go through this journey and they have to trust themselves and galactic beings that are called , Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs, Which, to fight against a power that is so cruel, and diabolical it’s called the “Black Thing”. While still looking for their father! “A Wrinkle In Time” is an amazing sci-fi (science fiction) book that talks about the future, outer space, time travel, technology, new societies, science experiments, and a good vs evil plot line. As you can see they’re many features that make this book spectacular.
In my opinion, I would definitely recommend this book because it wants you to read more. Every chapter ends with a cliffhanger that boggles questions inside your mind of what will happen next. From “A Wrinkle In Time” it states, “All traces of cheer had left the Happy Medium’s face. She sat holding the great ball looking down at the shadowed Earth … look children look…” This quote creates great suspense of what will happen next. It creates questions that make you interested for more. What happened to Earth? What are they looking at ? These question go into your mind creating anticipation. This is one of the reasons why I suggest this fabulous book. Another reason “A Wrinkle In Time” is a fantastic book is because there was many surprises. From Madeleine’ l’engle’s book, it states, “… but the smile was not Charles Wallace’s smile… IT has taken him Calvin, do something…” This was a surprise that definitely held my interest. This form of structure that Madeleine’ l’engle portrayed surprised me that Charles Wallace has been captured by a dark, pernicious source, which you’ll find out if you read the book. I thought that the three kids were just only going to find their father and go home. And gosh, I was wrong! But there is another conflict now. How will they solve it? What’ll happen? Is is this there another problem? Last but certainly not least, I connected with one the characters. Meg Murry connected with me when she was taken care from Aunt Beast. From the ” A Wrinkle In Time”, it states, “She felt a delicate touch as tender as her mother’s kiss.” This quote from ” A Wrinkle in time ” related to me by, when my mother cares for me whenever I’m ill. Aunt Beast is a name the Meg called the faceless creature. Just like an aunt is like a mother . This is a connection that I made from Aunt Beast treating Meg Murry, to my mom treating me when I was ill. This is one of the reasons of why you should read the book ” A Wrinkle in time”.
In summary, ” A Wrinkle In Time”, was one the best books I’ve ever read. It has me hanging over the edge, surprises me with a twist, and is very relatable to me in a caring way. Madeleine l’engle did an amazing job at describing and going in depth with those three points. She also had many sci-fi elements. Which made the story even more interesting! Overall, I’d definitely recommend this book who is interested in fantasy, adventures, suspense, and good vs evil. These are the reasons of why I’d recommend this book.
