The feelings and emotions attached to something or someone are known as love. Love is a debatable title that attracts the attention of many individuals. The perceptions and assumptions on love have resulted into the development of mature arguments. The arguments on love are widely read and watched via the print and the press Media respectively. However, the young generation is affected with the understanding of the word revolving around love. Teenagers are misguided by the terminologies and descriptive essays in regard to love. Love is a broad field which incorporates several aspects that are virtually ignored by a large number of people. The in-depth knowledge of what real love entails the analysis of various approaches of definition and descriptions. The manner in which people associate and relate to one another in specific environments motivates the analysis and evaluation of what love is all about. The attributes and attitudes tied to relationships and bonds guide the whole process of synthesizing love on a broader image.
Love is a common utterance commonly used in environments surrounded by human beings. As a child, I grew in different environments comprising of different traits of people. The human behavior was the main concern targeted by the juniors who acted as role models in the neighborhoods. The teaching issued to children focused on love. Despite the continuous struggles of people on motivating the children of our time to love each other, nobody ever understood what love entailed. The beliefs among some of the children we grew up with concerning love were based on sharing toys and food. Another group believed that love was all about visiting each other. The confusing nature of the term loves affected the basic formulation of the meaning of love. The condition grew worse as I grew into the school age. While at school teachers preached about the love of classmates. Attending school was the onset of the realization of understanding the components of love.
The standard description of love is achieved through the classification of the component word into mental and emotional factors. Love is the emotions that affect the habitual behaviors of individuals through passion and pleasure. Related the past information of love to what ideally love entails bring sense in acceptance that love is the attachment of reactions on people based on attitudes developed. In most cases, the attitudes are positive because they result in positive responses and receptions of people. Love is a complex word that contains different aspects of views. In fact, this is supported by the existence of different types of love. The environment in which a person is surrounded affects the meaning of love. At times you can wonder why people issue pieces of advice in relation to loving enemies and at the same time to disputing the bonds between enemies and friends. When you visit religious services it’s the same love that is being aired to believers. The classification of love into various categories assist the understanding of what love is and purpose.
Love is classified into seven types listed but not limited to agape, pragma, ludus, philautia, storge, Eros and philia. The classifications above are developed on the basis of psychological knowledge developed in the past ages of the existence of human species. Psychology is a field of study that concentrates on the study of wisdom. The wisdom obtained in linked to the human brain and behavior. Agape is the universal love developed to the creatures in an environment with the reference of a godly view (Aron, 231-254). This kind of love doesn’t depend on familiarity. It comes naturally and it is unconditional and uncontrollable. This is the love developed to appreciate the services of the supernatural being on the world’s creation. The bond experienced between a child and a parent is known as storge love. It is experienced in families especially among young children. When a child misses the presence of a parent and upon arrival, the child is seen to appear jovial and happy the bond is identified as storge love. On the other side, philia is the love experienced as a result of friendship clues. Classmates, colleagues, staff members and a band of musicians, for instance, can share a common affection as a result of the friendship bonds existing among them. Philia love is developed through the goodwill of friendships. The good things that individuals do to each other grow into habits of acceptance and feeling of wanting to be together always. The most discussed type of love is the Eros love because it is encountered in environments associated with different-sex attraction. Eros love grows due to sexual benefits people receive from one another (Berscheid, 171-183). A woman loves a man as a result of the sex benefits gained during the relationship period. When breakups arise the bond can deteriorate to ends of not feeling each other like it previously existed. Eros is a Greek word which was created from myth on the madness of Cupid’s arrows. The arrows are compared to the bonds existing between males and females. The attitudes rendered towards behaviors and talents of individuals are described through ludus love. A practical example of where ludus love applies is during a teasing, seduction, and flittering moments among people sharing a bond of friendship. The love lasts on the condition that the affected parties are mature people who are able to identify between realities and factious feelings. According to Wright (23), the addition of associating in doing specific things is lined to pragma love. Moreover, self-love cannot go unmentioned. The individual love developed among individuals is classified as Philautia love.
