My manager is Sundar Pichai. Pichai is Computer engineer and current CEO of Google Inc. He was born in India and was a bright student who excelled in the academy from an early age. However, his life wasn’t easy at all. He was born in the middle-class family and he didn’t have car, TV or fancy phone, but that did not stop him from following his passion because he always knew that in the end, it’s the idea that matters. Therefore, he is where he is because of his revolutionary invention. He is specialized in Internet-related services and product. The most popular browser Google Chrome that we used today was created by Pichai, which was initially rejected by CEO Eric Schmidt at that time. However, he did not give up on his idea, and somehow, he managed to convince to co-founder of Google Larry page. With all the success, he still remains grounded and a very good listener. Pichai is known to be sitting quietly throughout the meetings that he attended, and after everyone is done talking, he used to share his ideas that would work for everyone. As Roy T. Bennett said “Listen with curiosity. Speak with honesty. Act with integrity. The greatest problem with communication is we don’t listen to understand. We listen to reply. When we listen with curiosity, we don’t listen with the intent to reply. We listen to what’s behind the words.” I believe the listening is the greatest asset in career advancement or in general, and Pichai has that gift which makes him the greatest manager. Pichai is also known to be very empathetic and always cared about the people the word with. He also makes his team understand difficult things and clarifies any doubts. Google’s plan is “To organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful”. Pichai is CEO as a people person and he cares more about his team success rather than his own. To achieve this lofty goal, Pichai uses his unique characteristic to his advantage to build a team. His empathy, humor and his eagerness to encourage his team plays a pivotal role in reaching Google’s goal.In order to achieve, Pichai only promotes people who he thinks is capable of handling all the responsibility. He has done a tremendous effort in organizing the organization. He hired Rick Osterloh who is specialized in hardware, he has brought new emphasis particularly in senior level and Google’s executive are communicating effectively ever than before. To make it even easier to search, Google assistance was born. With Google assistance, it grabs a huge audience, especially people with disability.
