Which

genre had greater variability in total gross income:

The action movie genre had the highest variability in

total gross income. Out of all the movie

genres it had the most films that were released. There were big differences in

the opening gross income and how many movie theaters that these movies were

shown in.

Opening

gross mean income was less than another movie genre that had less data

collected from less films. For example, Adventure

only had ten movies listed with data and the gross opening income was over

$2,000,000 more than that of the action movie genre. Due to the higher volume of action movies

that were studied, there were more probabilities that some of them would not

produce high amounts of income. The

gross income of the action movies was the highest of all movies however the

minimum gross was also the lowest of all other genres data that was collected.
