Every and other harmful effects, the vaccine is

Every year, vaccines are given to millions of healthy people, including children, to prevent serious diseases and avoid infectious diseases from spreading. Therefore, they are monitored under very high security standards where each batch of vaccines is tested for quality and safety before they’re recommended to use (HHS, 2017). Despite scientific consensus recommended that vaccines are safe and effective to use, vaccine controversy still occurred and being debated until now. This controversy arose because of the existence of anti-vaccine in a community that resulting unsubstantiated scares among the society. Some of the controversies are – the use of vaccines can lead to autism, and other harmful effects, the vaccine is not ‘halal’ and seeks to profit solely. They also debated whether the vaccination is mandatory as it violate the civil liberties (Chang, 2017). However, now in the 20th century, a wave of anti-vaccination activity is increasing and has taken an interest in the arguments of childhood immunisations. ‘Vaccine hesitancy’ is a complex global problem that mostly affect many of the parents. Anyone who is doubtful about vaccinations or who chooses to delay or refuse immunizations even when they are readily available are describe as ‘vaccine hesitancy’ by World Health Organization (WHO, 2018).
Not many people will deny the benefits and improvements vaccination has been made to public health as well as one of the most cost-effective medical measures that generates universal benefits, but still, there are people who will oppose vaccination. This can be explained by the fact that most pharmaceutical products are given to ill persons for treatment purposes, meanwhile vaccines are given to healthy people to prevent disease even though adverse effects of vaccines are substantially lower. Thus, as the widespread use of a vaccine decreased or eliminates the risk of a disease, the public’s perception of the vaccines value paradoxically diminishes, because the disease is no longer being observed, but they begin focusing on why healthy people have to receive the ‘live viruses’ (live attenuated vaccines) into their bodies. Therefore, benefits perception becomes low, resulting incidence of disease increasing because of vaccine uptake decreasing. Thereby, in this assignment I will discuss based on the sentiment or perception of the anti-vaccine community in the society against the use of vaccines and the nurses roles in promoting public health on the issue of ‘vaccine refusal’ to public so that they can evaluate the real situation and be able to see the effect of the vaccine presence nowadays is positive and not merely disruptive.
